Dale Earnhardt Tribute Plaza

I was in North Carolina between Raleigh and Charlotte this past weekend. It was a great time, got to see a friend that moved there and it was NASCAR heaven.

I got all choked up upon visiting the Tribute Plaza for my hero, Dale Earnhardt. I mean, I about broke down.

You may remember this piece from years ago about Dale.

What a wonderful place.

Wow, that's a nice tribute to a great American hero, very tastefully done. Love the statue.

Reminds me of the tribute to Tom Landry we have in Mission. Not only did they name the high school football stadium after him, they named a boulvard after him, painted a biographical mural on the side of a building that takes up an entire block, and opened a little museum dedicated to him. It's quite impressive.

That's one thing I really admire about America. We honor our heroes.

I'm glad you enjoyed your pilgimage and hope you had a wonderful celebration on Independence Day.
